Cooking Book Title
We are looking for a WITTY title that is EASY to remember for a culinary book catered to food enthusiasts (men and women) in their 20s, 30s, and early 40s. We are compiling the BEST tips, tricks and techniques on how to buy, prepare and store food (poultry, meat, seafood, veggies, etc.) from the country’s best chefs. This will be the ULTIMATE guide to getting new cooks from 0-60 miles per hour in the kitchen. It is not a cookbook or a boring reference tool.
Please look at our website for inspiration: www.behindtheburner.com.
Here are some sample tips, tricks and techniques from the chicken chapter:
To check visually for doneness, pierce chicken with fork; juices should run clear.
For crispy skin when searing chicken, always pat it dry first and make sure there isn’t any moisture because it will cause unwanted steam in the pan.
-
Q: are there any words you want to AVOID using?
A: nothing in particular. we don't want the title to be generic- like "kitchen companion." we want it to be CATCHY.
-
Q: Do you need "BEHIND THE BURNER" on the book title?
Or isn't important?
A: We were thinking of putting Behind the Burner in the subtitle. Probably "Tips, Tricks and Techniques Learned Behind the Burner" or ""Tips, Tricks and Techniques by Behind the Burner." The title doesn't need to have "Behind the Burner" in it.

Flavor from Fresh to Fahrenheit 450°This is a bit of a play on the book by Ray Bradbury: Fahrenheit 451. WHODUNNIT?There is a good story behind this title. It's a more visual concept. Consider a police lineup where the suspects are a KITCHEN, some INGREDIENTS, UTENSILS and a COOK. All look guilty but the truth is everybody knows it was the COOK 'whodunnit!' ... a good cook never blames his ingredients, and with your book - never will again. Once again it's more of a visual concept. Novel too because it's not a boring foodie title so it will jump right out at people from the food books section. |
